Welcome to our planets 1st New Moon of 2015 on January 20th @ 5:14 AM, Pacific Standard time. Our Tiger Love moon is filled with thrills and chills that takes us on a sentimental journey. We can travel down the path of what could be, if we make new choices. This new moon is considered a Super-moon due to its location in perigee to Earth. With six moons in 2015 being so-called, super-moons I’m a little skeptical. The conflicting methods to discern this status just feels like so much hype.

Wild Tigris

Clusters of planets swirl around the bottom of the chart casting reflections in a pool of possibilities. This kind of reverie allows us to project our fanciful notions on a bigger screen for the broader consideration of our future being. We get a little sneak peek of what can be, before we commit and dive in too deep.

Pairs of Pairs

This moon is all about pairs. The Ascendant and Part of Fortune combine in the Ox sign while the Moon and Sun meet in the Tiger. Mercury and Venus are joined up in the Tiger too, while Neptune and Mars merge in the Hare sign. This celestial plateau is wide open to collaborators and tandem teams. Our new baby moon shares and cares with a depth perception that is keen.

Instincts Roam Free

Because this is a dark and reflective new moon it is more than a little dangerous for its unstable and changing nature. Chemical transformations; from old to brand new are peeling back layers. Tides will rise and sweep back-out, taking loose debris with them. Unseen forces will be working feverishly behind the scenes off screen. While structures and partnerships shuck and jive, shake and shimmy look for solid ground and hold on, rather than letting go. Use your internal instincts like sonar to guide you.

Tiger Lines

A leopard doesn’t change his spots and like a badge of honor, a tiger owns his stripes. Tiger’s stripes are beyond skin deep. That’s why Tiger folks are a faithful brotherhood. Typically they are life-long friends who at times may seem aloft, but are always available when you really need them. They can be counted on to attend social gatherings and stay loyal to their favorite watering holes. Yet, Tiger types are visionary and forward thinking. As the Sun and Moon connect expect some manner of brilliance, a cut above the ordinary, to be a by product and artifact that becomes legendary.

Mercury Retro

On our first new moon in a new year, Mercury is going retrograde. We will be experiencing turbulence. What is not yet officially started should be put on hold until the cosmic system is functioning normal. This is a great time to be progressive with existing projects. Give yourself the next few weeks before beginning anything you expect to last a long time. Just finish what you’ve started to make it even better and time will pass quickly into a friendlier cycle.

Calendar

The luck of the Flying Stars won’t change until February 4th. The old stars have worn out and although they are not dead yet, they are weak. They may still have the power to sign over a fortune but they do not have the energy to run a marathon. Instead of relying on them you may need to help them along. The Chinese New year begins on the next new moon February 19th when Mercury’s motion is forward, direct. To try to launch projects in this timeline can be disappointing if you push ahead of the natural cycles.

Dead Ends

A few days before Mercury goes retrograde it is a good to remove all excess. Trim hair, discard odd bits and pieces, mend, groom, sift and sort: plants, paperwork, etc. Also ask yourself, “what do I keep doing that’s not working”, as a metaphorical dead-end? This will help to prepare for the new moon by not restarting cycles that look good at the beginning, but lead back to a dead end.

Lucky Stars

Fortunes you so richly deserve will be more rewarding when you mine the cycles to find your fortunes. Use this time wisely. Because that’s what Mercury does, it takes a spin backward on our elliptic plane then comes right back to where it was again. Like a boomerang it can return to hit you in the head. This gives each of us a redo, a second chance and a another swing at the bat. Just leave space for the unexpected. Mercury will surely devour your time and send you on more than one goose chase.
