Rat | New Moon
New Moon’s are eggs of opportunity with potential that is small but potent. The Rat is smart and has the gift of gab. They are witty and easy to like. Rats are Numero Uno. They reach the top in everything they aspire to.
This New Moon happens the day before Mercury goes retrograde so the rest of the holiday season will be filled with the Ghosts of Christmas past. When the New Year rolls around all this sentiment fades fast as Mercury goes direct January 2nd, 2024.
What this Rat has to offer may seem fleeting but if you use it to stitch up loose ends and build bridges you’ll be on the right track. Rats are busy and industrious so dust off those pipe dreams and go for it. This New moon is inventive and refined.
Recent | Past
Neptune went forward in the Hare sign on December 6th and the monthly Flying Stars changed the same day. With Neptune going direct we are often struck by clarity. Often what seemed a sure thing turns out to be an illusion. In it’s place is a new wisdom.
The remainder of the year will be on auto pilot as Mercury takes a trek down a cosmic rabbit hole. As we move through this last lunar cycle of the year we reset our souls to a sense of purpose. We reignite our passions and regain traction toward our dreams and desires.
Mercury Retrograde | Ox
The Ox is the Shaman of the Zodiac. On December 13th Mercury goes retrograde in the Ox. It’s a backward cow. This retrograde repeats a retrograde we had last year. It doubles back to double back. It’s a twist with a double twister. A retrograde ricochet effect.
This retro Mercury Ox will touch on areas that are sacred. Issues of production, foundations and administrative matters will get a rehash. On this trek down memory lane things lost and forgotten will reappear. This back-bender inspires restorations and promotes comebacks.
It’s not considered auspicious to sign important documents while Mercury is out of phase and don’t start new projects that can get caught in Mercury’s never-ending loop. Work on what’s already coming due, in progress or needs redoing. Renew and review.
Sun Ox | Winter Solstice 2023
December 2st is the Winter Solstice. As the Sun moves into the the Ox a retrograde Mercury is backing out. The Sun and Mercury collide on their cosmic path, they run right over each other. It’s a big snarl-up that takes time to untangle.
Let there be light on the shortest day and the longest night in the Northern hemisphere. On this Solstice Mercury and the Sun will send sparks flying with a lot of friction. Use extra caution. There is plenty to gain and a lot at stake. Be mindful.
Goat | Full Moon
On December 26th we have the last Moon cycle of the year. It’s a Full Goat Moon that aligns with the Ascendant horizon giving it a surreal quality. Full Moons bring things to the surface so we can see them more clearly.
This winter moon the ever-sublime rises to surface of our awareness. Goats are the mis-matched sock and Party Animal of the Zodiac. You can expect fun and games to be the prime objective. Goats are the best, best-friends and the most playful of the Astro signs.

On the Gregorian calendar of the western world, January 1st begins a new year. Then here comes the Dragon! On February 2nd the Chinese Year of the Dragon begins. A Dragon year ushers in a powerful era of new leadership. Battles of honor waged, lost and won.
Welcome the Dragon. Brave Dragons come in all shapes and sizes. 2024 is a Wood year of the Acrobat Dragon. The Dragon sits Southeast on the compass in the zone of Abundance. Dragon’s part of the Ruling Triad with Monkey and Rat. Bird is Dragon’s best mate.
The Acrobat Wood Dragon will be expressive and focus on academics, musical adaptions, the ruling classes and entertainment fields. Dragons are known for their longevity and building dynasties; they’re eccentric, enormously popular and well loved.
Flying Stars | December 2023
The 20 year cycle of the 9 Fire Star begins February 4th, 2024. This new Mountain cycle ends the 8 Earth patterns to give-way to new power structures in the Feng Shui, flying star system. This means for living and work spaces: building new, rebuilding and remodeling, are all ideal.
On February 4th the Annual Flying Stars and the Monthly Flying Stars change. This much transition can have a dizzying effect. Go easy on your self and reduce expectations while things get resettled in their new positions.
