Rat | New Moon

New Moon’s are eggs of opportunity with potential that is small but potent. The Rat is smart and has the gift of gab. They are witty and easy to like. Rats are Numero Uno. They reach the top in everything they aspire to.

This New Moon happens the day before Mercury goes retrograde so the rest of the holiday season will be filled with the Ghosts of Christmas past. When the New Year rolls around all this sentiment fades fast as Mercury goes direct January 2nd, 2024.

What this Rat has to offer may seem fleeting but if you use it to stitch up loose ends and build bridges you’ll be on the right track. Rats are busy and industrious so dust off those pipe dreams and go for it. This New moon is inventive and refined.

Recent | Past

Neptune went forward in the Hare sign on December 6th and the monthly Flying Stars changed the same day. With Neptune going direct we are often struck by clarity. Often what seemed a sure thing turns out to be an illusion. In it’s place is a new wisdom.

The remainder of the year will be on auto pilot as Mercury takes a trek down a cosmic rabbit hole. As we move through this last lunar cycle of the year we reset our souls to a sense of purpose. We reignite our passions and regain traction toward our dreams and desires.

Sun Ox | Winter Solstice 2023

December 2st is the Winter Solstice. As the Sun moves into the the Ox a retrograde Mercury is backing out. The Sun and Mercury collide on their cosmic path, they run right over each other. It’s a big snarl-up that takes time to untangle.

Let there be light on the shortest day and the longest night in the Northern hemisphere. On this Solstice Mercury and the Sun will send sparks flying with a lot of friction. Use extra caution. There is plenty to gain and a lot at stake. Be mindful.

Snake Full Moon | Lunar Eclipse

On this glorious Full Moon partial eclipse be aware that everything is not always as it seems. Snake rule incomes and the financial sector in the Southeast on the compass. Markets could roil and twist in the wind with this Full Moon Shape-Shifter and mismatched cosmic sock.

Why is this Full Moon eclipse a mismatch? The previous Ring of Fire Solar eclipse in the Dog October 14th set the stage for this unusually strange event. Normally a Dog moon pairs with a Dragon but due to the elliptic shift this summer it lands in the Snake.

Snake does not align with the dog on the grid giving us a rarity in cosmic events. Snake’s are mesmerizing charmers and temperature sensitive. They can shed a skin and camouflage their presence in surprising ways. They can strike without warning so use caution.

This Full Dragon Moon marks the Mid-Autumn Mooncake festival. This ancient festival uses lanterns to light a path to prosperity and good fortune. The celebration of the harvest comes every year on the fall equinox.

During the harvest fest its common to burn incense with prayers and make offerings for safety and luck to Chang’e the Moon Goddess. Chang’e is a female deity. She’s a heroic protagonist in a mythic love story who holds the elixir of immortality and lives on the moon.

Dragon Full Moon | Mooncake Fest 2023

This Dragon Full Moon marks the Mid Autumn festival. It’s is a happy occasion to gather with friends and family to enjoy sweets, treats and spend time together. Our Dragon moon ushered in a change in seasons with a cyclic, nostalgic nature.

Venus Lilith Conjunct

As soon as this last Super Moon reached it’s peak planet Venus started another rollover on Dark lady Lilith. This happens on a Zodiac border between the Monkey and the Bird affecting our musical talents and accountability as well as relationships. Be careful you don’t get burned.

The collision between these two feminine energies brought us a scorched Earth on August 8th. This time Venus is going in forward on her elliptic path giving us silver linings and blessings in disguise as we experience Lilith’s wrath.

But make no bones about it between October 6th and 8th it can bring life altering events with dark energy that can overtake us in this period. Lady Luck Venus and Dark Lilith enter the Bird sign in tandem and extreme caution is advised. What is done can’t be undone.

Mars Pig

After the Dragon Moon fades Planet Mars enters the Pig zone just-in-time for Dog’s Solar Eclipse October 14th. Mars continues an energetic, fiery transit as we leave October on a Full Moon lunar eclipse in the Snake and for most of November too.

On October 14th Earthling’s will experience a New Moon Sun Total Solar eclipse in the Dog sign. This ring of fire is a hoop we must get through.

While in an eclipse corridor between October 14th and October 28th unexpected elements can pop-up randomly in a startling manner. Reserve action and judgements if at all possible. Cosmic distortions are in effect and can be misleading. If at all possible wait to act.

Hello to all my readers and listeners! Welcome to the Bird New Moon Sun episode | September 2023.

Bird New Moon and Sun

As September started planet Jupiter went retrograde in the Snake sign. Planet Venus went forward in the Monkey. This New Moon is our first lunar cycle in September. It comes late as planet Mercury is still in a retrograde.

As this New Moon is reborn the planet Mercury goes forward the following day. This sends a reverberation into the chart that produces a cosmic echo’s and distortions. It could be a few days before everything is back online and up to speed.

With the Sun and New Moon in the Bird accounting measures come home to roost. Money ebbs and flows. Bird are home in the West where novelty and innovation are praised. They are progressive by nature and foster adaptations in their field of choice.

Mercury Bird | Direct

Mercury the planet of communication, transportation and the courts goes forward in the Bird on September 15th. Mercury seeks Justice and accountability. Though thwarted and distorted at every turn Mercury now has a forward trajectory.

While Mercury was backward he crossed time and space on the elliptic grid retracing his steps. In a forward progression Mercury will pass back over his shadow. This shadow period is a chance to make amends and settle debts.

Mercury catches up by the end of the month just-in-time for eclipses in the Dog when everything will speed up with a new tempo and pace. Eclipses shrink time to bring things into being suddenly. This infuses a sense of urgency into the changes that rearrange our lives.

Sun Dog | 2023

The Sun moves to the Dog sign on September 22nd. Happy Birthday and Solar Return to all my Lucky Dogs and Libras. The Dog is part of the Power Triad with the Tiger and Horse. Dogs run in a fast crowd and keep a bead on security matters.

Dogs by nature are guardians and they come in all types and sizes. Yet they have many fundamental traits in common. Dog’s super buddy is the Hare. And Dog’s Peach Blossom sign is the Green Rabbit. Dogs are Yang signs who show-up in life to get things done.

Fun loving and popular, Dogs love to participate and to territorialize. My best friends are Dogs. While the Sun blazes in the Dog make an effort to get-together with family and friends and be more sociable. It’s the harvest season and eclipses coming in October will be upon us soon.

A summer of retrogrades has left us with a lull but now that ends. September 29th we have a Dragon Full Moon. This lunar cycle highlights a 3000 year old Harvest Festival that celebrates the mythic love story of the moon goddess Chang’e.

The Mid-Autumn festival is a time of sharing food and giving thanks. Lanterns are displayed to open a path to peace and prosperity. Our Full Dragon Moon is also a 30-day point to an October eclipse. 30-day ecliptic points give us a glimpse or preview of what’s in store.

All we need to is pay attention to what’s out of the ordinary. Stay keenly aware of dreams and intuition and you’ll sense what’s in the wind and catch a drift of what’s to come. Eclipses shorten time abruptly to end or start things unexpectedly and have a fated quality to them.

On August 1st at 11:32 AM Pacific time we had a Super Full Moon in the Tiger. This is the first of two full moons in August. The 2nd Full Moon is a Super Blue Moon on August 30th.

Tiger Super Full Moon

As the first of two Super Moons in August the Tiger Moon brings something to the surface. This peak lunar cycle completes the Tiger Micro New Moon we had back on January 21st. Elements of this moon are tied to that timeline and will expand or dissolve at this stage.

By nature Tiger is keenly aware. The Big Cat is a fierce, visionary warrior who see what’s around the next corner. On the Zodiac grid Tiger is home in the temple of the Northeast. They are scholars and explorers.

As an ancient guardian of the West Tiger is part of the Power Triad with Horse and Dog. Tiger’s secret buddy is the Pig. The cosmic swirl for August starts with a glorious Tiger Moon. This is a good time to act on insight. Watch for your moment to be bold then jump through the hoop.

Venus Conjunct Lilith

The Black Moon Lilith is known as the cosmic bitch. Lilith is an Asteroid with a dual nature who earns her reputation for being a femme fatale of the Underworld. Generally she’s not much of a concern for the big picture.

She’s hangs out in the cosmos doing her dirty work but her dark arts rarely see the light of day. Right now though she’s on a collision course with a retrograde Venus. Our Lady of Love and Luck Venus will cross paths with Lilith on August 7th and 8th.

Venus in retro is she-Bear who takes a hefty bite out anyone who crosses her. These primal female energies collide soon then again when Venus is forward and rolls back over Lilith in early October. This brings extreme contrast. Don’t get in the middle of anyone’s dramas.

Venus Retro | Monkey

Venus is retrograde in the Monkey sign from July 23rd to September 4th. After a celestial conjunction Lilith and the Mother Goddess Venus will book-end the New Moon and Sun on August 16th. The New Moon of rebirth and Sun are hard-pressed between these two forces.

Three female celestial bodies form a communion with the fatherly, Sun. This galactic cauldron happens in the Monkey who is part of the Ruling Triad with the Dragon and Rat. Snake is Monkey’s confidante and collaborator. This cosmic twister is filled with consequences.

The Sun informs our self-image and Moon tempers our moods. Venus promotes love and luxury while Lilith is a radical outlier. Child birth is hard in a retro Venus period. Shadow energy can be deceptive. Be aware and act quickly to avoid calamity. Stay on the bright side.

Mercury retro | Bird

On August 23rd as the Sun enters the Bird sign planet Mercury goes retrograde. The Bird’s has many virtues but it’s also a pecker. Mercury retrograde in the Bird is a needle in a haystack that can burst a bubble. What’s done is undone as Mercury retro is time for a redo.

Bird’s are legal eagles and feathers will get ruffled in a deep dive for accounting and accountability. When Mercury is retrograde it’s time for reviews, reflection and a pause. This space ball out of left field sits in suspended animation, making a station as it shifts gears.

Planet Mercury is akin to the legendary deity Hermes, the winged messenger. When Mercury’s elliptical energy is bent it distorts transit, commerce and communication. Stay chill. Signing important documents is not advised. Mercury returns forward on September 15th.

Sun | Bird

The Sun enters the Bird sign August 23rd. Happy Birthday to all my lucky Bird Virgo’s who are extra fortunate with the seasonal, Solar visit to their sign.

This year there are more than a few surprises and golden goose eggs tucked into this chart. Those who benefit most are the Bird’s Mystic Triad with the Ox and the Snake signs. Dragon’s are also favored as Bird’s best mate.

While the Sun’s in the Bird the balance of power is strained under the weight of a extreme polar shift. Birds sit on the west side of the grid and are showy creatures with a flare for the divine. With the Sun in the Bird its time to take stock and start the harvest grind.

Uranus Retro | Snake

The Snake is in the drain on August 29th as planet Uranus goes retrograde. Uranus is father of the Gods and he’s very eccentric. This cosmic event brings a market rout of sorts unseen before. This turbine effect removes decay to clear the way for something better.

Uranus goes forward January 22nd 2024 opening pathways to new innovations and wider expressions but with new boundaries and well defined guardrails.

Also in the Snake is jovial Jupiter. Luckily these two heavy hitters avoid a monster-mash when Jupiter retrogrades in early September. Jupiter won’t roll over Uranus until Spring next year.

Cosmic Recap | Summer 2023

August starts with the Tiger Super Full Moon on the 1st. Flying Stars change on the 5th. On August 7th it’s fire and brimstone at sundown as Venus and Lilith conjunct for 2 days! The feminine edge draws a line in the sand that can’t be changed.

We’ll bask in the Tiger Moon’s afterglow until the New Moon and Sun on the 16th. As the Sun moves to the Bird August 23rd it gets cuckoo quick as Mercury turns retrograde. Uranus retrogrades August 29th bringing a backlash and a rehash as we shed an old skin.

Some things don’t add up and stuff slows to a halt. To help ease all this cosmic congestion we get a breath of fresh air with an auspicious Blue Super Full Moon in the Hare on August 30th. As we enter September the status quo is still stuck in galactic quicksand until mid month.
