Zodiac Ghosts
Mars is in the Monkey, the Sun’s in the Dog and the Moon’s racing through the Horse as October begins. This month Zodiac ghosts come back to haunt us. How so? In October inner rim planets, Venus and Mercury retrograde in the Pig. The sign of life, death, sex and rebirth.
Hello my beautiful Zodiac friends. I’m China Rose your Star Guide on the Zodiac Muse podcast. I’ve spent 45 years assisting clients getting lucky by design with an active Feng Shui practice and following: How Stars Align. Want more luck in your life? Welcome to the show.
What’s up with October? Twisted transits take optimal change factors off-line after Oct 3rd. Why is this true? During October Venus and Mercury retrograde in extended patterns that are sure to raise an Astral specter or two. How do stars align for you? Let’s find out.
Venus Retrograde Pig
On Oct 3rd our Lady of Love and Luxury, Venus goes retrograde in the Pig until Nov 14th. The Pig sits in the graveyard at tale’s end of the Zodiac. When Venus retrogrades she spins all the way-back to the Dog digging up old bones. Did you think dead is gone?
Maybe not as Spirit’s rise to this cosmic occasion. And that’s not all. Venus won’t be fully-forward from where she began in Oct, until Dec. Lady Luck Venus doesn’t change signs into the Rat for refresh until January of next year. This is an extended transit.
What to know and do? It’s not the time to re-arrange your life. Let sleeping dogs lie. Venus retro can damage relationships and dash expectations. Instead work on yourself: recuperate and build resources. Big change and expensive purchases can backfire and fail to deliver.
Retro Venus Crosses Mercury in the Pig
What else? As Venus spins back she rides rough-shod with multiple crossings. Be extra cautious of your choices. This shift in tone can lead to dire straits leaving hopes and dreams in tatters. And it happens fast. As soon as Venus retrogrades she crosses Mercury Oct 6th.
Mercury rules over the marketplace, courts and communication. This increases the chance of something breaking down and plans falling apart. It’s a loose cannon. Dark secrets are unearthed holding courts in suspension. What the heck does that mean?
Nothing will pass go or break free from their own past actions. Instead what you thought was not a big deal, becomes the center of focus. Some things get over blown and exaggerated while others are real nightmares. How to manage this? Let’s explore all of the coming aspects.
Dog | New Moon
There’s another dark spot but this one offers good news especially for Dog signs. The New Dog Moon Oct 10th is the ideal time to take a breather and start something new, promote ideas or launch important goals. Do it on a shoestring budget, keep it subtle and low key.
This New Moon welcomes positivity for a 15 day cycle. Dog is sporty, security minded and sit NW on the compass. Dog presides over travel and transportation. Planning a trip or taking one? This is the best time to go places during October’s rocky transits.
Use the New Moon energy before Mercury retrogrades at the end of Oct. Yes, both Venus and Mercury retrograde in the Pig sign this month amplifying the take-back, brake-down and redo, effects. Use this New Moon advantage to plant seeds, set plans and ground your desires.
Pluto direct | Tiger
Oct 15th Pluto the planet of fate and pebble-in-the-cosmic-shoe, goes forward in the Tiger. Now that Pluto is direct what will change? Tiger it’s time to come out of your cave and get off the fence. Pluto is a cold, distance planetoid and its effects transcend individual choices.
Pluto’s extended retrograde shows up as things we can’t seem to shake or get the better of. It’s felt the most by Tiger’s and those with key planets and aspects in the Tiger sign. What it affects is generational. Education and scholarship will be in a transition as traditions die hard.
The affects of this Pluto event means that some things are now written in stone. You won’t be able to undo water that’s gone under-the-bridge. Pluto forward delivers new trends and eccentric patterns will emerge. In this realm what-was done, is now gone. So move on.
Sun | Pig
Oct 23rd the Sun enters the Pig sign The Sun rules our sense of self and personal status. Happy Birthday Piggy this is your time to shine and get a full, solar recharge. This year as the Sun broils your biscuits Venus and Mercury throw in a twist by retrograding in your sign.
What planet or aspect do you have in the Pig sign? This often tells the tale how these revolutionary events play out for you. Pig is the bank of the Zodiac and Venus pulls a thread in the tapestry of life all the way-back to the Dog house. Pig and Dog sit NW on the compass.
They rule benefits and resources, travel and hard assets. These themes bring reversals of fortunes. Pig are known for their superior taste, sense of smell and snuffing out truffles. With Venus retro look for wild bargains and ferret out treasure in this world-series of cosmic events.
Retro Venus crosses the Sun in the Pig
On Oct 23rd as Sun enters Pig’s threshold the retrograde Venus rolls over the Sun. This is a very intriguing and also potentially disastrous confrontation. Most at risk include Pig and Dog signs. But due to the banking, resources and travel factors things are in flux for everyone.
What can you do for extra protection? On this day and within a few days surrounding this astro event use extra caution when entering and leaving any space or location. This is where the energy is most vulnerable. Can you stay home and let this cosmic twister pass? It’s an option.
Some people don’t believe planets have an affect on their life. But without the constant, cosmic swirl to hold everything in our world together we would not exist. What can be gained? When you bond with your celestial bodies it can richly improve the quality of your life experience.
Mercury Retrograde Pig
Oct 25th Pig signs get all the sauce and seasoning for the cosmic stew as Mercury goes retrograde until Nov 13th. This year along with the usual setbacks, brake downs and redoes we’ll experience ghostly phantoms and apparitions. Ghost impressions can appear very real.
But they are fleeting and superficial. Don’t engage with demons. Be mindful and stay grounded. Mercury goes retrograde for about 6 weeks periodically every year. Mercury the messenger affects all the signs. it’s a time of review so don’t start anything new.
General rules: don’t restart failed relationships. And if one falls apart, let it go. Don’t sign important documents or make life altering change expected to last. Ultimately new details and information come to light and situations reverse once Mercury goes forward on the elliptic.
During a Mercury retrograde phase hold the line or draw-it to set your boundaries.
Snake | Full Moon
Oct 25th is a Full Snake Moon. The Moon is exalted in the Snake sign. Full Moons bring things to fruition and illuminate areas of our lives to help us make progress on our aspirations. This full moon offers a unique arrangement of circumstances that can enrich our lives.
The benefits the moon brings are small in appearance but big on delivery. This full moon seeks ways to grow your income. Does an offer seems overly complicated or look-like more hard work? Then it’s not the best option. Your best option will come easy and feel breezy.
Sometimes Snakes startle us or alarm us and we overreact. This Snake is glorified and magnified so give themes that show up a chance. Your first impression may not be the best barometer. Snakes are transformative, shapeshifters. It’s okay to say yes.
Retro Venus enters Dog
On the Snake Full Moon the retrograde Venus re-enters the Dog sign Oct 25th. This has a shock and awe effect. It’s an Oct surprise that unzips files to reveal secrets buried long ago. Someone gives up the Ghost. Revelations and unexpected twists deepen the plot.
The retro Venus will roll back into the Dog and root out significant information that provides riveting details and expositions. While this transit is happening look to make discoveries that have eluded you and seek to find the things missing in your lives.
Venus can be a real disaster in some situations to be sure but she also can restore and refashion things taken at face value. She can show us what we don’t want to see but need to know. The outcome provides a more balanced and productive perspective based in truth.
All Hallows’ Eve
Oct 31st the door between world’s is open. This is a celebration of the Sages, Saints and Spirits no longer present in an earthly expression. We celebrate these days between worlds to honor and remember those who we revere and for whom we still feel a presence.
In the modern era we often find playful costumes and enjoy a night of socializing. But there is also a darker side. The gore and horror has seeped in and taken over what was once a way to make light of the dark side.
Bonfires were lit and spirit cakes were shared to ward off the darkness and hold back the shadows. Use this holiday spirit to connect with festive, cultural traditions that spark the life in what we remember; of those who have gone beyond and sometimes return in another guise.
Happy Halloweening.
Flying Stars | October
Flying Stars in October double-down with the current Fire 9 Mountain Stars. The Mountain Stars are active from 2024 to 2044. Fire 9 Star alignments patterns are a mixed bag, some offer great, good fortunes and others are unlucky, with Sha Chi (negative) influences.
You can balance these aspects by design. What does that mean for the Zodiac signs and the compass directions in Oct? The bad is not good and lucky is doubled. This month the East has the Lucky Sum of Ten to overcomes all obstacles for success.
It works automatically when you space is properly aligned. As the 9 Star flies to the Heart Center Palace this month everything will feel more extreme. The 9 Star is the Ripening Star of Wish Fulfillment. To boost the Heart Center use a Selenite heart in your decor.
Use a Selenite Heart dish to dose the negative and boost positivity.

Finally we have a month where the number of cosmic events slow down but the intensity increases. Flying Stars and planet move in complex directions and upset the apple cart as they say, in the marketplace. Otherworldly aspects can give us thrills or chills.
Inner rim planets, Venus, Mercury and the the Sun channel deep and lasting retrograde transformations. We are put through the cosmic ringer as these transits shake out. Expectations need a revamp and plans get a reset.
