Big 2026

Ox is the Shaman of the Zodiac. As we begin this episode for January 2026 it’s only fair to warn you that Ox and Tiger are blowing cosmic events off the chart. It’s a lot bigger than expected. But we are not just beginning a New Year we’re turning a cosmic page.

In 2026 the outer rim Gas Giants move to new positions. Why does this matter? Mostly because it sets the tone for the year and for many years to come. This episode also features the 12 Zodiac Resolutions for each Animal sign.

Goat Super Full Moon | January 2026

Hi I’m China Rose. As we approach the first Super Moon of the New Year we’re still recovering from Dark Lady Lilith racking us over the coals. Lilith made her final sweep in the Pig (life, death, sex and rebirth) to return to the Rat and begin a whole-new spin on the Zodiac Wheel.

It’s a recipe for another month of celestial stew. A Goat Moon can be quite cranky. But this year the Full Moon embraces Jolly Jupiter near the Crown with the Ascendant on zero in the Pig. These aspects elevate us from the doom and gloom and help us to move on.

Goat’s lighthearted whimsy brightens winter’s shadow. On this episode the 12 Zodiac Resolutions offer each sign a personal evolution. As we begin another trek through the stars the Super Moon kicks-off our New Year’s goals with a moment of clarity and focus.

January Blitz

The Super Full Moon has great potential but it comes with a Venus opposition to the Kid. Venus in the Ox is not well aspected at the bottom-of-the barrel. We may need to shake off this funky feeling to find equilibrium. Excess expectations can weigh you down.

Goats are creatives with a tenacious spirit and Dark lady Lilith is back in the Rat for another loop on the elliptic trail. Venus in the Ox is stuck-in-the-muck, as the cows finally come home and data will be revealed.

Monthly Flying Stars change on January 4th with the full moon. And In 2026 all the Gas Giants usher in a generational shift as they move into new stations. This churns the cosmic flow to brake-up the status quo. If change is your wish you’ll be getting it in spades this year.

Venus, Sun and Mars

But hang on there’s plenty more. On January 6th and 7th it’s a full burn as Lady Luck Venus crosses the Sun to conjunct War God Mars with Quicksilver Mercury nipping at their heels. Venus and Mars only meet up every few years and when they do it’s steamy and dreamy.

Venus Mars conjunct sets the stage for a wild ride as Annual Flying Stars shift in early February followed by the Super-Sonic, blaze of glory! The Fire Horse arrives on the Chinese Lunar New Year. A Fire Horse has double Yang energy that’s powerful, fast and spirited!

Resolution Road

There’s a lot happening in the January’s cosmic calendar. Way-more than usual. February will be full speed as well but tapers off when Mercury goes retrograde at the end of the month. Both Ox and Tiger are deep dives so get ready. We discuss multiple conjunctions and crossings.

One thing to keep in mind. Conjunctions are effective in and around the timeline for several days. Once they peak-out they begin to fade. Crossings also have a few days of activity that can leave marks, residue or make a lasting impression. Use this energy wisely.

Rat | Sagittarius

Ox | Capricorn

On January 6th Venus in the Ox pushes past the Sun. This friction can bruise egos. Like porcelain teacups ego’s are fragile and bulls in China shops break things. In Feng Shui when crockery breaks it means new money is coming. So don’t sweat-it, let it go.

January 7th, Lady Luck Venus and War God Mars are Yin and Yang in the Ox. This love fest sets the tone for the year as a Venus and Mars conjunct is a long time coming and Ox is known for it’s enduring legacy.

On January 17th, the Sun (self-image) crosses Mars (pure yang energy) in the Ox Simultaneously the Node (key) and Part of Fortune (values) conjunct in the Hare. This turns the tables and sets a record straight. 

On the same day after the Sun crosses Mars in the Ox early in the AM. Later that night Mercury will conjunct War God, Mars. Quicksilver Mercury delivers an Important message that begins trials and tribulations. Play your cards close. Wait to respond until the cosmic dust settles. 

At noon on January 18th the New Ox Sun and Moon has eccentric artifacts. This dynamic duo conjuncts with Mercury for news that’s riveting. Ox New Moon lasts one day before the Sun and Moon move to the Tiger. Make haste to plant seeds or start your projects without delay.

On January 17th, Lady Luck Venus enters the Tiger. When Lady Luck rides the Tiger things get done with greater ease. The Sun enters the Tiger January 19th. Happy Birthday Tiger! Sun is in Tiger will recharge your internal battery and increase your sphere of influence. It’s a good time to make life altering change. Go Tiger! Cerebrate you. 

Also on January 19th Lady Luck Venus conjuncts planetoid Pluto in the Tiger. Pluto is now in the Tiger for the next 18 years. Venus and Pluto will merge forces to do something lasting and remarkable. But use caution and watch your step. Pluto plays for keeps.   

Messenger Mercury conjunct the Sun while entering the Tiger on January 20. This power-play can topple the status quo. Bold moves comes with a lot of fanfare and impart a feel-good effect. Tiger can bask in the glory.

Mercury conjuncts Pluto in the Tiger January 21st. Most of last year Pluto was left to his own devices. Suddenly a pack of celestial bodies land on his doorstep. Quicksilver Mercury and pebble-in=the-shoe, Pluto create bright, chemical reaction. Inventions, ideas, breakthroughs, all groovy. But whatever you’re doing don’t skimp on safety. 

Late to the party but finally Mars enters the Tiger January 22nd. Mars is pure, yang, masculine energy but cannot catch the vibrant celestial parade that has now gotten out ahead of him. What does this tell us about the days to come? 

The Sun (sense of self) crosses Pluto January 23rd. Tiger’s are straight forward leaders and team players. This event imparts a deeper meaning and its revelations can be alarming.

Mars pure energy conjuncts planetoid Pluto January 27 producing a dark grind that is energized to do better. Mars can act as an elixir infusing Pluto’s cold, dark space with new-life and zest. Be ye transformed.

Mercury messenger conjuncts Lady Luck Venus in the Tiger January 29th. This is a cultural convention bringing youthful Spirits and wise Sages into the big tent to share ideas and exchange concepts. This cosmic event is fruitful and abundant. 

Tiger’s Resolution is to not chase your tail. Tiger can get what he wants when he lets others do things for his benefit. Regal Tiger often try’s to do it all himself. Tiger’s such an adept at all he does, he hardly notices the drag on his productivity. In 2026 delegate to propagate big ideas.

Hare | Pisces

The Hare In January has the unlucky Danger 7 Star. This is a difficult energy to work with. Take lots of breaks. Avoid renovations in the East until next month. The 7 Star creates drama and legal issues you don’t need or want. Use a wisdom sword in your East decor to cure this star.

For the last decade we’ve had cobwebs in our heads about what’s real, what’s true, and how to sort the wheat from the shaft. Blame Neptune spinning illusions in the fanciful Hare. Now that Neptune is moving on the fog will clear. False impressions that gild the lily are not in vogue.

What goes around come a round. As Lord Neptune moves to the Dragon, Taskmaster Saturn leaves the Hare. In astro lore as Saturn departs he leaves a gift by the door. This can come as a life-lesson, learned or an unexpected benefit, earned. Look for closure soon.

On January 9th the Sun crosses over Mars while the Node and Part of Fortune are conjunct in the Hare. This will set the record straight to your advantage. Be sure details are accurate to get the fullest experience.

Hare’s Resolution is a recipe for success. Yes, use a recipe. Hare can be inclined to eyeball and best-guess measurements. But this year follow a pattern that lets you mix and add while setting other things aside, to sift and sort. Then merge the results and bake until set.

Dragon | Aries

At times you’ve had to surrender to this force of nature. Soon the Uranus transit will end. But for now this giant has got you in a bind.

You don’t have to burn bridges to release the past just cross over to your future and don’t look back. Uranus is retrograde until January 4th but in April the crazy giant moves to the Horse for the next 8 years. Snakes will be free to go where the buffalo roam in myth and magic.

Snake’s Resolution is to tread lightly. With an abundance of hype and excess it stands to reason piling onto the band wagon will only break the camels back. To elevate lofty goals step lightly. Make good impressions not deep cuts. Let nature take its course and follow the beat.

Horse | Gemini

What’s going on in the Goat? Right off the bat Goat gives us the first Super Moon of the year. The big moon reaches peak illumination on January 3rd. Goat’s are creative types and social climbers who set goals then check-off their accomplishments for breakfast.

Planets for the Goat herd have Jovial Jupiter until midsummer. If you use a Dragon Tortoise or Pi Xao to appease the Grand Duke be sure it sits Northeast facing Southwest. The North-South axis for the lunar year is way-off because Grand Duke Jupiter is the divining line.

Goat’s Resolution is to be still. Southwest where Goats reside is home to the Goddess and Matriarch luck. Be mindful of the spirit that guides us. To get ahead, step back before charging forward. Goat’s are always headed up the hill. To advance goals this year practice stillness.

There are no planets for Monkey in January. Monkey is riding the wheel and biding time but needs to get a grip since he is hosting the full moon on February 1st.

This year Jupiter transits the Monkey sign beginning at the end of June. Jupiter in the Monkey will last a whole year and spotlight a world of new entertainment options. Now is the time to set the stage for future events. A world of change is coming. Prepare your good intentions.

December | Swirl

The Rat New Moon Nov 30th lingers the first weeks of December. We won’t see another lunar event until the Horse Full Moon Dec 15th. What’s in the Stars for December? We start this month in the Astro calendar with a yawning gap I call the blue abyss.

Mercury’s retrograde in the Rat until mid month. Lady Luck Venus conjuncts Pluto at Zero in the Tiger. Pluto is now in the Tiger for 19 years. The last time Pluto transited the Tiger (Aquarius) in 1778 we had an American Revolution raging and Cook landed in Hawaii.

Mars recently entered the Monkey but he won’t get far going retrograde on Dec 6th. We end the year with a twist in the celestial saga. Shadows grow longer as we move toward the Solstice. With Mercury and Mars both retrograde; nostalgia tugs the heart this holiday season.

Flying Stars | December 2024

In Feng Shui the Monthly Stars change Dec 4th. The Peach Blossom 4 Star flies to the Heart Center Palace making this a season for Love that’s shiny and bright! The Lucky Ming Tang flies South to East and the Lucky Sum of Ten lands in the North for great career moves.

But patterns look topsy turvy with the Fighting Star 3 in the Southeast and the Icky Yellow 5 in the Northwest; upsetting the apple-cart in the marketplace. But Love remains a bright spot this year with the Miracle Love and Money 1 Star in the Southwest direction for true-romance.

It might feel funky at first to be back at ground zero -again. Take your time and know that this happenstance is designed to put us on a different path for some greater good and we just don’t see yet. Venus is transformative, majestic and sublime. Let the evolution begin.

Monkey | Mars Retrograde

December 6th Mars retrogrades in the Monkey until Feb 24th, 2025. Mars will roll all the way back into the Goat. In retrograde fashion Mars is hell-bent and a bit of a Trickster, a fly-in-the-ointment. In the Monkey Mars retrograde brings cultural throw backs.

This elliptic back-bend slows the tempo taking us on a detour. The hasty Mars retreat can be a blessing. Monkey sits Southwest on the compass presiding over Relationships and spins back to the Goat to heat-up the cosmic Love Zone. Monkey is the talent in the Zodiac.

And Goat is a party animal. In legends long-past Monkey becomes King. In the garden of the Moon Goddess Monkey stole a peach to became immortal! Monkey is ambitious and clever. With Mars retro in the Monkey keep your eyes peeled for keen insights and flashes of genius.

Neptune Hare | Direct

A spell is broken on December 7th as chickens come home to roost when gas giant Neptune awakes from his great nap. Lord Neptune is the higher octave of love. He carries a magical Trident; a divine instrument. Neptune fell asleep in the Hare last summer on July 7th.

Revelations quickly arrive when the metaphorical curtain is pulled back. Neptune’s return lifts a veil. Deep probes see below the surface. Neptune leaves the Hare in 2025 but he will return the same place next year for a cosmic backsplash. Sure to be filled with drama and intrigue.

Neptune lives in his own signature bliss. Some call it an illusion. After a retro period the sands of time come back online with revealing data. And love rocks the boat again, this time next year. Hare is a hospitality sign and Neptune is a harmonizer. This story isn’t over yet.

Horse | Full Moon

On Sunday December 15th at 01:02 AM PST we have a Full Moon in the Horse sign. Full Moons bring things to completion even-if they are half-baked or with loose ends. As a result something could overshoot it’s mark. This Moon is a procession that runs away with itself.

Mark your cosmic calendar or take star notes: on the Horse Full Moon Dec 15th Mercury goes direct in the Rat entering a Shadow period lasting until January 2nd next year. In Feng Shui Rat rules the North for career luck. In business matters you could get a 2nd chance.

Mercury crosses his shadow by going back over the ground already covered before he went retrograde. This go-around will net new progress. In occupational goals we will see momentum. Resolving issues in this cosmic process will leads to new positions.

Many moons and generations have come and gone since Pluto’s last Tiger transit. In 1776 a Tea Party sparked a Revolution in 1778. From it a fledgling Democracy was born. Built primarily due to Tiger’s strong alliances as a team player and as Brother-in-arms.

November’s bedeviling cosmic motion begins on the 1st when the veil between worlds is lifted. Spirits rise on Hallows Eve for All Saints day and to celebrate (Día de los muertos), the Day of the Dead. It all happens on a double-dark, Micro New Moon and Sun in the Pig sign.

From start to end this month features a rare Black Moon. What’s a black moon? It happens when we have two New Moons in a single month or sign. Mid-month the celestial canopy dazzles with a Super Full Moon in the Snake sign conjunct to retrograde Uranus!

Lady Luck Venus is already in the Rat as the month begins and Mercury moves in. Venus moves to the Ox late in the month. But Mercury’s in the Rat for the rest of this year- going retrograde at month’s end. Mars moves to the Monkey and Saturn goes direct in the Hare.

Pig | Micro New Moon ~ Sun

On Friday Nov 1st at 05:48 AM PDT Earth has a Pig ~ Micro New Moon Sun. The Pig Sun and Moon go-dark In the wee hours before daybreak making this a Yin-yin, Micro-mini Moon. As the lunar cycle goes dark secrets are safe but the truth will out and consequences are coming.

October | Signals

As October gets going Earth has an extra-temporary Moon. In the Dog the Sun, Mercury and Dark Lady Lilith are all conjunct. War God Mars continues to blaze through the Peace-seeking Goat giving momentum to unique possibilities as quirky cultures take root.

And Dog keeps the ball rolling. The US political field is a junkyard of Dogs born in the Fire Dog year 1946 with past-presidents Bill, George and Don. For the old guard the October 2nd micro-moon eclipse leaves a lot to be desired as the feminine divine rises to social power.

Mid October the Grand Duke Jupiter goes retrograde in the Horse. Big dreams won’t be dashed entirely but some get sent back to the drawing board. The coming Dragon Lunar eclipse is certain to be illuminating. And the door to the Spirit World is open on Hallows Eve.

Dog | Solar Eclipse – Micro New Moon & Sun

On Wednesday October 2nd we have a Micro-New Moon at 11:50 AM PDT in the Dog sign. This new moon is a solar eclipse with the Sun and Moon conjunct along with Dark Lady Lilith and messenger Mercury. It’s a game-changer combination, life-event for Dog signs.

But-like all new moons this complex drama plays out in the shadows. When we look at the chart the Crown in the Bird suggests justice and accountability are paramount. For some this cosmic evolution involves a shrinking of former-selves to fit the new models of acceptability.

The effects of this eclipse may seem like they are a black box to figure out; as the tide turns on the wheel of fortune and the cosmic cards are reshuffled in the deck. Dogs can recover a new sense of duty but must take a backseat to Dragon as a power transition unfolds.

October | Flying Stars 2024

October 4th Monthly Flying Stars change and the Victory 6 Star flies to the Center palace. It’s a lucky star that brings noisy clatter and competing desires. To manage this heaven star in matters of the heart, be a good-sport for a lucky advantage.

As August begins planets Neptune, Saturn, Pluto and planetoid Chiron are retrograde. Mercury will soon follow. This slows the cosmic swirl for a much needed time of reflection. August brings a cosmic cooling period in the star patterns which will speed up again as the month ends.

August | Moonbeams

On Sunday, August 4th at 04:14 AM Pacific time we have a New Moon and Sun in the Monkey sign. This New Moon energy will unleash fresh ideas and bright expressions early on. Monkey is a sign that represents personal talents and our relationships with others.

This New baby Moon quickly sweeps past Venus, Mercury and all the other planets on its path as it comes full circle to land on the Ascendant horizon in just one day. This baby moon delivers miraculous moments to infuse special powers to a lucky few.

With this New Moon the Sun and lunar cycle convert to a harmonious Yang-Yin-yang axis. Now when the Sun moves we get a New Moon to precede the Full Moon. The balance of power will once again shift for an an auspicious turn of events.

Flying Stars | August 2024

August 4th the Monthly Flying Stars change. The lucky Wealth Star 8 flies to the Center Palace. A quest for monetary gains can sometimes cloud and deplete the nourishment we seek where love is the central theme. But at the same time this Earth star can provide needed support.

The Ming Tang big and bright energy to boosts business and energizes action for positivity. As it ride through the center line from East to West with an added bonus on the North and Northwest side assets one can accumulate and may come in a landslide.

The Lucky Sum of Ten flies to the Northeast giving Ox and Tiger added challenges and a few set backs. It may seem harsh but this turn around actually puts Ox and Tiger on a road to success that might not be easy but the payoff is supreme.

Venus | Bird

On August 5th planet Venus, Our Lady of Love and Luxury enters the Bird sign where Venus is said to be in detriment. With Venus in the bird hen-peeking can be a bit much. As Venus glides through the Phoenix sign we get a chance to decide how we account for our lives.

Do we draw inspiration from external themes, or tap the well deep inside? Do we keep score? Or appreciate the little to receive the more? Answers to our deepest questions are a needle in a metaphorical haystack as we separate the wheat from the shaft.

Take the good and discard what doesn’t serve us. Birds are accountants, nest builders and creatives. This strange blend can working for us when we are attuned to details but it holds us back when pull things apart? Birds give us a song in our hearts to find our higher mind.

Mercury Retrograde | Bird

On August 5th Mercury the planet of commerce, courts and transportation goes retrograde. This repeating cycle begins at 4 degrees in the Bird and spins back to the Monkey sign. Luckily Mercury is exalted in the Bird as we revisit and review before Mercury goes forward again.

During this elliptic pullback we may receive things we think we don’t want. Mismatched socks and ruffled feathers can distort reality. But before we are to-quick-to judge check again. An investigation begins with the word invest. So invest time to know why something is returned.

Seeing something bounce back gives us a clue to hidden motives and self-suppression. Results tell us that whatever we are sending out – is what we are receiving. It’s the by product of our own making. Shifting attitudes can bend the light to expose a silver lining.

Mars & Jupiter | conjunct

On August 14th Mars reaches a peak conjunction with Jupiter in the Horse sign. Normally Mars would whizz right by but Jupiter’s brisk pace slows Mars’ ability to make the cross over. This creates a shrink-effect. What does this mean?

Both Mars and Jupiter are yang planets in the yang Horse sign. This affects politics, promotions, fame and reputations. It strongly suggests a weakening of the Mars energy. Anything overtly brazen will lose steam and appear diminished.

Jupiter reduces Mar’s ability to make headway. Unforeseen consequences could develop. What at first seemed opposing may only be a blip on the screen. This multi day event lasts a week as Jupiter siphons off the Mars to steal his thunder and reap the benefits.

Tiger | Super Blue Moon

On Monday August 19th at 11:23 AM PDT just before noon we have a Super BLUE Full Moon in the Tiger. As this moon reaches total illumination we are able to clearly the results of our choices. And they might surprise you. Tiger rules the brotherhood and Patriarch luck.

This Tiger Moon is brilliantly lite in a cinematic fashion. Everything will have greater emphasis to express itself boldly. Tiger’s the visionary sign of the Zodiac that sees way ahead of the rest. Mighty Tiger seizes attention as he leaps through hoops of fire to leave his imprint.

This lofty Tiger the Moon will be at 27 degrees adding a bonus of good fortune and perhaps a bountiful jackpot for the lucky few touched by this chart aspect. Dragons get a super charge as well with the Part of Fortune landing on Chiron where doors of opportunity fly open.

Sun | Bird

On Thursday August 22nd the Sun enters the Bird sign at 8:07 AM Pacific time. The transition of the lunar cycle is now complete and a new wave of wonders begin. Bird is the bean counter and keeps score of what’s-what and who’s on, or off base.

Sun in the Bird is a solar recharge for all the lucky Bird signs. Happy Birthday Birdie. Bird sits in the West where a new evolution is in full swing. Our Lady Luck Venus is also in the bird sign but she’s in detriment landing just below the Ascendant horizon.

This puts a hold on progress already unfolding as a check and balance. Something that has gotten ahead of itself is now pulled back and reigned in. Venus may not get her due and it comes as a bit of a shock. Like it or not Bird keeps a tally and draws the line in the sand.

Mercury Returns

On August 28th Mercury goes forward direct in the Monkey sign. The day before and after are called station days where everything is in suspended animation through the transition. It’s not a good time to sign on the dotted line. Avoid commitments in this timeline.

After Mercury returns he enters a Shadow period by going back over ground already covered. The Shadow period lasts until September 13th. During his Shadow Mercury reveals the flip side of the coin to expose the other side. What was missed or overlooked is revealed.

As Mercury crosses territory already covered it brings more accountability to center stage. What goes around comes around and what seemed lost or forgotten can be restored. Seek and ye shall find.

Venus | Dog

Hallelujah! On August 29th our Lady of Love and Luxury enters the Dog sign where she can once again promote peace and prosperity throughout the land. By their nature Dogs give service, its their super power.

Those less fortunate find favor. If you need help this is your lucky amulet. And if you simply want to spruce things up on a budget Venus refreshes the old to make it feel new again. Love will bloom and friendships blossom. Dogs are easy to know and love.

Go for a walk or just enjoy the feeling of camaraderie that Venus in the Dog will give to everyone. Dogs are human’s best friend. Be sure to show how much you care about Mother Earth and let kindness be contagious.

Every year we have a Goat New Moon and 6 months later we have a Goat Full Moon. This is consistent for all the signs. Each of the 12 Zodiac signs have a Yin New Moon that leads to a Yang Full Moon. It’s a lunar gestation period from emptiness to fullness.

It’s a process of sowing and reaping. New Moon’s has a direct kinship with their Full Moon phase. This Goat moon dates back to July 15th, 2023. By nature Goat’s have lofty aspirations. They’re adept at finding pathways to reach pinnacles in their chosen field.

Rat | New Moon

New Moon’s are eggs of opportunity with potential that is small but potent. The Rat is smart and has the gift of gab. They are witty and easy to like. Rats are Numero Uno. They reach the top in everything they aspire to.

This New Moon happens the day before Mercury goes retrograde so the rest of the holiday season will be filled with the Ghosts of Christmas past. When the New Year rolls around all this sentiment fades fast as Mercury goes direct January 2nd, 2024.

What this Rat has to offer may seem fleeting but if you use it to stitch up loose ends and build bridges you’ll be on the right track. Rats are busy and industrious so dust off those pipe dreams and go for it. This New moon is inventive and refined.

Recent | Past

Neptune went forward in the Hare sign on December 6th and the monthly Flying Stars changed the same day. With Neptune going direct we are often struck by clarity. Often what seemed a sure thing turns out to be an illusion. In it’s place is a new wisdom.

The remainder of the year will be on auto pilot as Mercury takes a trek down a cosmic rabbit hole. As we move through this last lunar cycle of the year we reset our souls to a sense of purpose. We reignite our passions and regain traction toward our dreams and desires.

Sun Ox | Winter Solstice 2023

December 2st is the Winter Solstice. As the Sun moves into the the Ox a retrograde Mercury is backing out. The Sun and Mercury collide on their cosmic path, they run right over each other. It’s a big snarl-up that takes time to untangle.

Let there be light on the shortest day and the longest night in the Northern hemisphere. On this Solstice Mercury and the Sun will send sparks flying with a lot of friction. Use extra caution. There is plenty to gain and a lot at stake. Be mindful.
